Jets owner says he won't fire Adam Gase during the season or in the offseason

New York Jets fans should get comfortable with what they have, because head coach Adam Gase isn’t going anywhere for a while. Gase received a vote of confidence from Jets owner Christopher Johnson, who told reporters Wednesday that Gase would not be fired during the season or in the offseason.

The 41-year-old Gase hasn’t inspired much confidence during his first nine games as the team’s head coach. The Jets are 2-7 and rank dead last in offensive yards per game. Gase was hired due to his experience as an offensive assistant and coordinator.

In Gase’s defense, his starting quarterback missed significant time due to mono.
