The New England Patriots announced on Friday that the team released veteran cornerback J.C. Jackson.
Jackson had a cap hit of just over $14.3 million in 2024, via Spotrac. He began the 2023 season as a member of the Los Angeles Chargers after spending time with the Patriots from 2018 through 2021.
He was eventually traded back to New England on Oct. 5, as he was unable to live up to the hefty five-year deal worth $82.5 million that he signed with Los Angeles in the 2022 offseason.
Releasing Jackson gives the Patriots $101.
