Jason Day remains the world's best golfer, despite PGA Championship loss

SPRINGFIELD, N.J. — As his famous father held him in his arms after a disappointing loss, Dash Day offered a 4-year-old’s consolation.

“Daddy, you still get something,” he said.

And the little fella was right and, no, it wasn’t just another big check.

His dad lost in a dramatic finish to the PGA Championship after a marathon 36-hole Sunday, but leaves soggy Baltusrol knowing he is the best player in golf.

He wasn’t the best player this week because Texan Jimmy Walker, who at 38 and with no top-10 finishes since March, was suddenly and simply too good.
