Jaguars fire offensive coordinator Greg Olson after 2-5 start

Amid a disappointing 2-5 start, the Jaguars on Saturday fired offensive coordinator Greg Olson and promoted quarterbacks coach Nathaniel Hackett to the position.

The move comes after Jacksonville lost to Tennessee 36-22 on Thursday night. Olson was in his second season in the position.

The Jaguars rank 25th in the NFL in total yards this season and average 19.9 points per game after scoring 23.5 points per game last season. Even the points the Jags managed to score haven’t meant much; six of the team’s 15 touchdowns have come when trailing by 17 or more points.

Hackett, hired as the Jaguars’ quarterbacks coach before the 2015 season, spent 2013 and 2014 as the Bills' offensive coordinator.
