Coverage and Course at the Open Are Lacking
To the Sports Editor:
Re “Fox Makes Debut Like an Amateur at the U.S. Open,” June 23: I applaud Richard Sandomir’s column on the deplorable course and TV experience at Chambers Bay. This was my sixth major and fourth U.S. Open, in addition to a number of other tour events over the years. The only sane reason for attending a tournament live is to see the players in action. The course and the way the U.S.G.A. set it up prevented almost everyone from viewing golf, even in the hospitality suite we had access to.
