Imperfect Kansas the perfect team for this NCAA Tournament

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Kansas Jayhawks are not a perfect team. They lost four times in 2015, and even if we wanted to stretch the definition beyond mere winning percentage, they still haven’t got the outrageous talent that would typically inspire such a declaration.

They are the perfect team for this season, however, for this particular edition of the NCAA Tournament. There is no Derrick Rose or Anthony Davis or Jahlil Okafor in the freshman class to elevate his team toward title contention and kick everybody’s behind. NBA scouts ache when they consider the dearth of talent that will be available to them when they hold their annual player draft in June.
