Former USWNT goalkeeper Hope Solo was reportedly arrested on Thursday in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and misdemeanor child abuse.
According to TMZ, Solo was arrested in a Walmart parking lot with two young children in the car with her. Solo has 2-year-old twins with her husband, former NFL player Jerramy Stevens, but it's not known if it was her children in the car with her at the time. Following her arrest, she was reportedly processed at Forsyth County Jail.
A statement from Solo's lawyer, Rich Nichols, was posted on her Twitter account Friday afternoon.
