Hey, you remember when Dale Earnhardt Jr. changed your oil?

If you were traveling through Newton, N.C., in the early 1990s, Dale Earnhardt Jr. might have changed your oil.

“I changed a lot of oil, I know that,” Earnhardt, now NASCAR’s 13-time Most Popular Driver, says.

Before he began racing in NASCAR’s Xfinity Series (the Busch Series back then), Earnhardt worked at his father’s Chevrolet dealership near Charlotte. While cutting his teeth racing on Carolina short tracks — just like his famous father and grandfather — Earnhardt changed oil at the dealership.
