Heisman Watch: Candidates aplenty early in 2015

The first week of the 2015 college football season had its fair share of Heisman Trophy intrigue, and all of the positive variety. No perceived frontrunner lost his spot in the Heisman mix for a disappointing start, though Brigham Young quarterback Taysom Hill's season ended prematurely after the senior suffered a foot injury in the Cougars' win against Nebraska.

New faces abound in the Heisman race, however. UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen had an outstanding debut. Ohio State now has three players among this week's top 10: Cardale Jones, Ezekiel Elliott and Braxton Miller. Alabama running back Derrick Henry asserted himself in the Tide's win against Wisconsin, and seems poised for major activity as the clear leader of the offense.
