Greinke's scoreless streak ends at 45 2/3

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Zack Greinke can thank one of the league's worst offenses for ending his historic streak at 45 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings.

The New York Mets snapped it Sunday with a fielder's choice from pitcher Jacob deGrom in the bottom of the third at Citi Field in New York.

Greinke hit Kirk Nieuwenhuis with a pitch to lead off the inning. Kevin Plawecki then singled, and Nieuwenhuis reached third on Dodgers center fielder Joc Pederson’s fielding error. deGrom hit a chopper toward first, and Adrian Gonzalez threw home to try to preserve the streak, but it wasn't in time.
