Giants Speak to Jason Pierre-Paul for First Time Since Accident

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. —

In what may be at least the beginning of a thawing in the icy relationship between the Giants and defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, General Manager Jerry Reese said Monday that he had talked on the telephone with Pierre-Paul for the first time since the player’s fireworks accident in early July.

Reese said in an interview with WFAN that he had a “great conversation” with Pierre-Paul on Sunday, but he did not reveal any other details. Most important, Reese said there was nothing to report about when Pierre-Paul, who has been absent from the Giants’ training camp, would return to the team.
