It didn't take long after the New York Giants selected Abdul Carter third overall in the 2025 NFL draft for speculation to begin over what number he would be wearing.
Carter claimed shortly after being drafted that he would love to wear the iconic No. 56, which was, of course, worn by Giants legendary Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor, who many consider the greatest defensive player of all time.
After being shot down for the opportunity to unretire No. 56, many then speculated that Carter might request No. 11, which was retired in honor of former Giants quarterback Phil Simms.
