Geoff Parling to be new Leicester Tigers head coach

Leicester Tigers’ protracted search for a new head coach has finally concluded after appointing Geoff Parling to succeed Michael Cheika.

The former England second row and current Australia assistant coach will stay with the Wallabies for their three-Test series against the Lions before taking charge of Leicester in time for the 2025-26 domestic season.

A two-time Premiership winner with Leicester, Parling will become the club’s seventh head coach or director of rugby in the past eight years.

Little wonder then that both Parling and Andrea Pinchen, the club chief executive, referenced the need for “stability” in the club statement announcing his appointment.
