The former Bears defensive lineman will be at Comic-Con International in San Diego this week to promote "The Protectors," the sports crossover comic he conceived while playing in the NFL in 2007. The books follow a group of five culturally diverse athletes-turned-superheroes (Isaac, Miguel, Danielle, Douglass and Gerard) as they use their special abilities to help save the future world.
What started as a origin story has expanded into a popular series and led to Idonije founding his own company, Athlitacomics.
