The Los Angeles Lakers have reached an agreement with Frank Vogel to be their new head coach, according to a person familiar with the negotiations who was not authorized to discuss them publicly.
The deal comes one month after the Lakers parted ways with Luke Walton, two days after talks broke down with Tyronn Lue, their top choice, and just over 24 hours after fans protested the franchise’s recent instability.
The agreement was first reported by ESPN.
Vogel, 45, did not coach this season, but he had spent two years with the Orlando Magic and six seasons with the Indiana Pacers as head coach.
