Former Steelers 2013 first-rounder earns high school head coaching position

Former Steelers 2013 first-round pick and UGA legend Jarvis Jones was just named the head coach for Carver-Columbus High School.

Jones had a terrific college career after leaving USC for Georgia — accumulating 28 sacks, 45 tackles for loss, and nine forced fumbles from 2011 to 2012 in just 26 games.

Jones' elite collegiate production resulted in the Steelers acquiring him with the 17th overall pick in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft — but he didn't find similar success at the next level. Pittsburgh declined Jones’ fifth-year option and wouldn't re-sign him at the conclusion of the 2015 season — which would ultimately be the last time he ever played in the NFL.
