Former Longhorns QB retires form football after an a seven year career

After a seven-year career, former Longhorns quarterback Cam Rising announced that he was retiring from football on Wednesday. In a statement on social media, he said he had been forced to stop playing due to a hand injury he sustained against Baylor during the 2024 campaign. His career, which included stops at two schools, was full of memorable moments.

When Rising committed to Texas, he was ranked the 26th-best quarterback in the 2018 class. However, his time in Texas did not last long. He redshirted as a freshman before heading out west, transferring to Utah in 2019.
