Former Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith arrested on DUI charge

Former Ohio State and NFL quarterback Troy Smith, who won the 2006 Heisman Trophy, was arrested in suburban Columbus, Ohio, early Sunday and charged with driving under the influence.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, police in Westerville pulled Smith over at 2:38 a.m. The 31-year-old was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, improper display of a license plate and possession of marijuana.

As a senior at Ohio State, Smith led the Buckeyes to a 12-1 record and a spot in the BCS Championship Game, where they lost to Florida.
