Former NFL defensive end Gary Jeter, the fifth overall pick in the 1977 NFL Draft, died this week at age 61.
The cause and exact date of death were not known for Jeter, who leaves behind his wife, Leslie, and four daughters — Ayisha, Denyse, Breana and Kayla. Multiple reports say Jeter died Thursday but the NFL Players Association says Jeter died Wednesday.
