For disappointing NFL teams, fans' pain is nothing compared to what GMs, coaches feel

I learned all about this pain early in my NFL management career. It's the pain felt by executives and coaches of teams that entered seasons with high expectations but did not achieve success.

I know how general manager Dave Gettleman and coach Ron Rivera feel in Carolina. Same for Mike Maccagnan and Todd Bowles in New York; Mike Brown and Marvin Lewis in Cincinnati; Ryan Grigson and Chuck Pagano in Indianapolis.
