FAYETTEVILLE — It didn't take long during fall practices for Ryder Helfrick to realize Arkansas baseball had something special brewing at the plate this season.
In fact, it only took three batters into the first scrimmage.
"It goes back to the first outing that Gabe Gaeckle had," Helfrick said. "We took him yard three times, and it's not just somebody who is up there throwing 90-91. It was like 97, and it wasn't really phasing us, and I think that was good for us to see."
Indeed, the back-to-back-to-back home runs from Charles Davalan, Brent Iredale and Nolan Souza off the pitcher lined up to be the Razorbacks' ace was a strong indicator of a dramatic offensive turnaround.
