San Francisco (AFP) - The National Football League has approved the competition committee's proposal to move extra-point kicks back to the 15-yard line, the owners decided at their annual meetings on Tuesday.

The owners also voted to allow defences to score on failed conversion attempts in an attempt to add more excitement to the games.

The new format means the snap of the ball on extra-point kicks will take place from the 15-yard line.
