Jack Warner, the former vice president of FIFA and President of CONCACAF who more recently cited an Onion article in his defense, seems intent on going down swinging.
Using a paid political broadcast in his native Trinidad and Tobago, Warner, who was forced out of office in 2011 amid scandal, said that he “feared for his life” after his most recent indictment. He also said he would turn over any evidence he could to authorities and apologized for not doing it sooner:
“I will no longer keep secrets for them who actively seek to destroy the country … the gloves are off.
