ESPN's Kevin Negandhi overcame people's perceptions on way to 'freaking great gig'

Kevin Negandhi of ESPN is the first Indian-American anchor on a national sports network. But it wasn't easy for the 41-year-old journalist.

He had to overcome perceptions that Indian-Americans don't know, or care, about sports. Meanwhile, his parents didn't approve of his teenage dream to go into sports TV. But the trail-blazing Negandhi overcame the odds. He's now one of the most respected, versatile and popular anchors at ESPN.

On Feb. 8, he debuted as co-anchor of the new "SportsCenter: AM" (7 AM ET), with Jay Harris, Jaymee Sire and contributor Sarina Morales.
