Pep Guardiola has said Erling Haaland suffered a complicated “syndesmosis” injury to his ankle but is on course to return for the FA Cup final on May 17.
Haaland has been out since March 31 after he was forced off against Bournemouth. He has now returned to the Manchester City squad for parts of training, with Guardiola saying he is closing in on a return.
Haaland is not, however, scheduled to start in the Premier League fixture against Wolves on Friday evening. His injury affects the ligament between bones in the ankle and has been described as “tricky” by Guardiola.
