Endangered jaguar killed after serving as mascot for Rio Olympic torch ceremony

An endangered Amazon jaguar was killed Monday by a member in the Brazilian army after being used as a mascot for an Olympic torch relay ceremony in Manaus, the capital city of the state of Amazonas, in northern Brazil.

The female jaguar, named Juma, escaped the chains around her neck moments after being a few feet away from Olympic torch, which was at a zoo adjacent to a military training center.
