Ducks 5, Blackhawks 4: Blackhawks Force Overtime, but the Ducks End It Quickly

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Matt Beleskey scored 45 seconds into overtime, and the Anaheim Ducks beat the Chicago Blackhawks, 5-4, on Monday night in Game 5 to take a three-games-to-two lead in the Western Conference finals.

Chicago’s captain, Jonathan Toews, scored two stunning goals in 72 seconds late in regulation to force overtime, but Beleskey barreled into the crease and scored on a rebound of Ryan Kesler’s shot, then flew through the air in celebration.

Kesler and Sami Vatanen each had a goal and an assist for the Ducks, who moved to within one win of their first trip to the Stanley Cup finals since 2007.
