The Rockets fell into a 3-1 hole in their first-round series after losing to the Warriors on Sunday. But basketball is of little importance given what has happened in Houston recently.

The city is still recovering after massive flooding tore up Southeast Texas, killing seven people and causing more than $5 billion in damage, according to CNN. Sports can serve as a temporary escape during difficult times, but there isn't an appropriate correlation between athletic performance and tragedy — well, you wouldn't think there would be.
