Jack Draper is through to the quarter-finals of the Madrid Open after making lightwork of 11th seed Tommy Paul in 6-2, 6-2 victory.
The fifth-seeded Briton, who is the highest seed left in the tournament, took just 67 minutes to secure his first win on clay against a top-20 player, and can look forward to a first-time meeting with Italian Matteo Arnaldi in the next round.
Speaking after his defeat of Paul, Draper told Tennis TV: “It was a really good performance. The more time I get on this surface, the more I learn how I’m going to be effective.
