SHIPPENSBURG – The two days of the District 3 Track and Field championships could scarcely be more different. After a rain-soaked, weather-shortened Friday, Saturday was run in near perfect conditions.
But the two days were the same in this one respect: on each day, Franklin County claimed exactly one gold medal.
Jaeda Dockman of Waynesboro was Saturday’s winner, standing atop the medal stand at Shippensburg University’s Seth Grove Stadium after winning the 3A girls high jump with a 5-5.
Dockman’s quest for the gold medal began on Friday afternoon, but a pair of thunderstorms pushed that event and several others to early Saturday.
