Fresh off a two-game sweep of the Baltimore Orioles, the Mets announced Friday that Dillon Gee would be placed on the disabled list with a strained groin and that David Wright, the team’s captain, had experienced a setback in his recovery from a hamstring strain.
The bad news did create an intriguing situation.
