DeAndre Jordan has made the stunning decision to renege on his verbal agreement to sign with the Dallas Mavericks and instead return to the Los Angeles Clippers, two people with knowledge of the situation told USA TODAY Sports.
The people spoke on the condition of anonymity because the decision had not yet been announced. A third person close to the situation said that Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has informed several team employees that Jordan will re-sign with the Clippers. The deal can't be signed and finalized until 12:01 a.m. ET, when the free agency moratorium that began on July 1 finally lifts.
