Darren Sharper sentenced in Louisiana to 20 years in prison for drug, rape convictions

Former NFL All-Pro safety Darren Sharper was sentenced Thursday in Louisiana to 20 years in prison for drug and rape convictions in a case that included victims in four states.

District Court Judge Karen Herman called Sharper's behavior "such an epic disappointment," according to The Associated Press.

Sharper, a six-time All-Pro selection and five-time Pro Bowler in a 14-year NFL career, was given an 18-year prison sentence by a federal judge last week as part of the case. He was already sentenced to nine years in Arizona and is still awaiting sentencing in California and Nevada.
