OXNARD, Calif. – Right off the practice field, Randy Gregory took one glance at the name of the alma mater on my long-sleeved T-shirt and went straight for the jugular.
“Michigan State? Ugh!” he grumbled.
It figures. While at Nebraska, Gregory was 0-for-2 against Sparty.
Then the big, lean defensive end let out a hearty laugh.
“My boy went there,” he added, referring to Denver Nuggets guard Gary Harris, a basketball and football teammate at Hamilton Southeastern High in Fishers, Ind.
Response from my inner Tom Izzo: Wish that Harris would have stayed for another year.
