Dale Earnhardt Jr. pointing toward return at Daytona 500, Rick Hendrick says

Concussion-like symptoms have kept Dale Earnhardt Jr. out of a racecar since July, but team owner Rick Hendrick says Earnhardt will man the No. 88 Chevy soon.

"I think sometime in December the doctor's going to give him the final clearance and then we'll get him in a car," Hendrick said Friday (via NASCAR.com). "He feels great. Everything's on track. I mean, every step that we supposedly need to go through, we've gone through, and I don't see anything holding us back."

Earnhardt, 42, said last month "we're booking things as normal" ahead of the 2017 season.
