Crowd Watches American Pharoah’s Final Workout Before Belmont

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — All week at Churchill Downs a crowd gathered at Barn 33 at 8:30 a.m. to watch American Pharoah head to the racetrack for light training in anticipation of his final workout ahead of the Belmont Stakes, where he will attempt to become the first Triple Crown winner since 1978.

On Monday, under a light but steady rain, that fan base multiplied as people began gathering before 8 a.m. in the hope of catching a glimpse of the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner emerge from his stall.
