Cowboys Rumors: Leighton Vander Esch Will Have Surgery on Injury; Out 6-8 Weeks

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Leighton Vander Esch will undergo surgery after "cleanly" breaking his collarbone in Sunday's game, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The injury is expected to keep the starter out six to eight weeks.

Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News added Vander Esch will be placed on injured reserve with a designation to return.

The 24-year-old had three tackles for Dallas before coming out of the eventual 20-17 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
