Sometimes joint practices work. Sometimes they’re completely amicable and hunky dory and players on opposing teams catch up on each other’s lives between reps and set play dates for their kids and talk about playing rounds of golf or having each other over for dinner.
Other times? Not so much.
The Dallas Cowboys and the St. Louis Rams had a joint practice on Tuesday and that’s what it came to. An all-out brawl that I would call “bench-clearing,” but “bench-clearing” doesn’t quite do it justice. Dez Bryant left a conversation with Jerry Jones and joined the fray from two whole practice fields away.
