Cowboys paint clearer picture for Tony Romo return target

The Cowboys are planning for Tony Romo's return around Week 8 or Week 9, Pro Football Talk reported Friday.

Dallas is waiting for Romo to be 100 percent healthy for his return. Depending on when the Cowboys deem him ready, the hope is he will either start against the Eagles in Week 8 or the Browns in Week 9.

Romo is healing from a fracture in his spine suffered in an Aug. 25 preseason game. He has been working out "aggressively," according to the report. Romo's return, according to what the Cowboys have said, means Dak Prescott will be demoted to backup quarterback.
