Could the Nets sign-and-trade for Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga?

The Brooklyn Nets head into the 2025 NBA offseason expected to have the most cap space in the league to use in free-agency. While Brooklyn has to explore every way possible to make the team better following a 26-56 record, they may be able to take a change on a talented young player.

Marcus Thompson II and Anthony Slater of The Athletic recently wrote that the Golden State Warriors are not expected to allow forward Jonathan Kuminga walk in free-agency for nothing. While the Warriors are expected to extend the $7.9 million qualifying offer to Kuminga to make him a restricted free-agent, Thompson and Slater wrote that Golden State and Kuminga are expected "to explore" sign-and-trade scenarios.
