Friday marks the start of another Avista NAIA World Series in which the best baseball teams in the country at the NAIA level will meet in Lewiston to crown a champion.
But this Series, even more so than last year, feels different.
For the first time in nearly 30 years, the Lewis-Clark State Warriors missed the World Series for the second straight season.
And it cost coach Jake Taylor his job.
LCSC confirmed that it will not renew the seventh-year coach’s contract Saturday. A reason was not given, but the message sent by the administration is clear.
