Four NFL fans have filed a class-action lawsuit against the league for the cancelation of the Hall of Fame Game, seeking more than $5 million in compensation, The Plain Dealer is reporting.
The plaintiffs – Alan Biland, Matthew Crabb, Tiffany Ratcliff and Carmelo Treviso – claim the NFL knew about the poor field conditions in Canton hours before the scheduled kickoff but withheld information from ticket holders, who continued to purchase food and merchandise despite the game having really already been canceled. The poor field conditions, caused by bungled operations by the field crew, was the reason the game between the Packers and Colts was called off.
