Celtics center Robert Williams III to reportedly miss 4-6 weeks with meniscus tear

The Boston Celtics are losing a key contributor just before the playoffs. Center Robert Williams III will reportedly miss 4-6 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair his meniscus, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Williams sustained the injury during Sunday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. An MRI on Monday revealed the tear, and Williams underwent surgery Wednesday morning.

Williams, 24, is expected to miss the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, though there's a chance he could return for the second round if he returns to action quickly.
