Canadiens rookie Cole Caufield buries overtime winner for first NHL goal

I’m sure no player ever forgets scoring their first NHL goal, but Montreal Canadiens rookie Cole Caufield will have quite the story to tell about his.

Saturday night, on Hockey Night in Canada, the highly-touted Habs youngster buried his first career goal in overtime to lift the Canadiens past the Ottawa Senators.

Quite a special moment in an NHL career that is just four games old.

On the play, Jeff Petry was able to skate around a tired Brady Tkachuk and find Caufield who was streaking towards the Senators net. The rookie directed the puck past goaltender Filip Gustavsson, earning the Canadiens two points while picking up his first-ever NHL marker in the process.
