Cam Newton Could Miss 2019 Season with Shoulder Injury, Says David Tepper

Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper told reporters that it's possible quarterback Cam Newton could sit out the entire 2019 season to heal from a right shoulder injury that forced him to miss the final two games of the 2018 campaign, per David Newton of ESPN.com.

The Panthers' signal-caller, who was the league's 2015 MVP and has led Carolina to the playoffs in four of his eight seasons, had shoulder surgery between the 2016 and 2017 campaigns. The shoulder clearly bothered him in the second half of the 2018 season, however, and he finished just 23rd in adjusted yards per pass attempt.
