Bloomington North's tennis coaches Barb Mills and Ken Hydinger have been anxiously pining for the better part of a decade to see their home courts remade.
Mills, in particular, would not have minded waiting a few more weeks until her girls' team saw their season come to an end. But the contractors, coming from out of town, showed up earlier than expected on April 30, and got right to work, taking down the fencing, ripping up the playing surfaces and removing the unsightly rip-rap and leveling the landscape in mere days.
The Cougars adjusted and will be ready to hit the courts at South for this week's sectional.
