Bryce Harper or Jake Arrieta? Ranking the stars of the Nationals-Cubs weekend showdown

The teams with the two best records in baseball opened a four-game series on Thursday night at Wrigley Field.

It wouldn’t be at all surprising if the host Cubs (21-6) and visiting Nationals (19-9) met again in the National League playoffs, in an NLDS or the NLCS. They’re that good. The Cubs won Thursday’s game, 5-0, so obviously Nationals fans would hope an October revisiting would start on a better note.

With three more games left in what should be an epic series between the NL’s two best teams — the Mets, Pirates, Dodgers, Cardinals and Giants will argue that declaration throughout the season — we thought we’d have a little fun and attempt to rank the best players in this series.
