You have probably never heard of Adam Peaty before Saturday. But the young man from Great Britain made his Olympic swimming debut on Saturday in his heat of the 100-meter breaststroke and he crushed it.
Not only did he easily qualify for the semifinals later on, but Peaty crushed the field and beat the world record for the competition.
Peaty will have to place well later on to make it to the medal round of the competition.
