British Open Updates: Low Scores Abound in Third Round

ST. ANDREWS, Scotland — Decent weather — or at least what passes for it in this town along the North Sea — arrived at the Old Course on Sunday morning, leading to a slew of low scores in the third round of the British Open.

Marc Leishman made the biggest leap, shooting a 64 to rocket up the leaderboard into a tie for second place at nine under. Leishman, who made the cut by a single shot, was one behind the 36-hole leader, Dustin Johnson, who opened with five pars.

By the late afternoon Leishman and Johnson had a lot of company.
