SAO PAULO (AP) Brazil’s attorney general’s office has confirmed Spanish authorities requested the arrest of former Brazilian football confederation chairman Ricardo Teixeira.

The office of Brazil’s top prosecutor on Wednesday said it requested those documents for a possible investigation into Teixeira.

A prosecutor told The Associated Press that Teixeira might be investigated in Brazil, but said the South American country does not prosecute private crime.

Teixeira was a business partner of former Barcelona chairman Sandro Rossell, who was recently arrested for alleged money laundering.

Neither Teixeira’s lawyers nor the Brazilian football confederation responded to requests from the AP for comment.
